Correction: Fed's Balance Sheet Post Bear Stearns
In a note posted Sunday we wrote that our reading of Thursday night's H4.1. release provided no indication of a mark-down of the Maiden Lane portfolio. In other words, we took exception to those commentators who argued that the value of Bears assets had fallen between mid-March and June 26, and effectively this was eating towards the Fed's capital, and ultimately the US taxpayer. We argued that the H4.1 report signalled a $1.077 bln liquidation of LLC's assets. We were wrong.
